1. How long have you been capturing weddings?

• I ( David ) have been shooting weddings professionally since 2009. I began my career in weddings in Ireland at my family owned business, Castle Durrow Country House Hotel, travelling the entire country as well as parts of Europe. To this date I have shot, edited, produced and delivered over 400 wedding films to my clients. Since 2018, I have been currating my Toronto Wedding Photography business, Maple and Clover.

2. Why should we book Maple and Clover to capture our wedding day?

• Hiring a talented Toronto Wedding Photographer is one thing but in my opinion it’s imperative to find a personality that you are comfortable with, someone who you can be yourselves around and in front of the camera. Having a wedding photographer who just barks directions at you all day misses the mark completely, you shouldn’t have to perform to whoever is behind the camera. It’s your wedding day, how can you be yourselves when you are given direction, constantly. At Maple and Clover we want you to be yourselves. We don’t over pose and we prefer you to be natural, to be yourselves, we will lightly direct so that the emotions can flow naturally. A Toronto Wedding Photographer’s job is not only to provide you with content, but to also help you manage your time throughout the day, not only is our goal to cover your Preparations, Ceremony and photo-shoot, but to get you both back to you venue in good time so that you can enjoy your cocktail hour with your guests. Candid shots of your family and guests is something we aim to achieve at every wedding especially when the wedding couple are involved. You invited your family and friends for a reason, we want to capture you as you celebrate with them, your day of celebration.

3. Why do you think personality is important for when we decide who captures our wedding?

• You want your wedding day to be perfect, and so do we. There’s nothing more important to Maple and Clover than our couples enjoying their time with us and more importantly, their wedding day. We think it’s so important to meet either in person or via a video call so that names can be put to faces and so that you can meet the personality of your possible wedding photographer who will be sharing your day with you.

4. What type of cameras do you use to cover weddings and do you have back-ups to, in case anything were to happen?

• Each Wedding Photographer has a minimum of 2 cameras each, so that if one fails we have a backup, the same goes for ever other piece of equipment too, your wedding day is too valuable to miss, so having extra equipment to prepare for the worst is necessary. We use Sony full frame cameras and G Master lenses.

5. How long does it take to receive our Photographs once our big day has taken place? 

• Our turnaround time for delivering your first draft of images is between 2 - 3 months. We limit the number of weddings we accept each year so we can maintain this quick turnaround. Exceptional quality takes time to produce, but you will not be disappointed!

6. How many Photographs are included in each of your Photography packages and are they watermarked?

• We include an unlimited amount of Photos taken on the day, in each package offered. We don’t like to number how many images we provide because it’s a different amount each wedding. We like to provide as many images as we can on the day. Your wedding is my inspiration to be trigger happy and to provide as much coverage as possible. When we deliver our images to you on final release they are watermark free and you have unrestricted printing rights.

7. How much of a deposit is needed to secure our wedding date?

• We require 50% of your total of your chosen wedding photography package to secure your wedding date. This can be paid by Transfer wise or e-transfer.

8. When do we pay the remainder of the balance?

• The remainder of the balance is due before or at the end of your wedding day.

9. Do your prices include HST?

• All of our prices exclude Ontario HST of 13%.

10. Do you have any current discounts at the moment?

• If you choose to book both photography and cinematography through Maple & Clover and Solely Love Films, we’ll happily offer you a 5% discount on the final price.

11. If we book one of your packages, but at a later date decide we want more coverage, can we upgrade or purchase additional edits?

• Yes, absolutely. If you decide you want more coverage on the day of your wedding, I recommend having an additional wedding photographer, this will ensure that you have more angles and coverage on the day. In addition to having a second wedding photographer, you could book additional hour of coverage. Upon booking your wedding photography, I require at least two weeks notice before your wedding date in order to book additional wedding photographers for your wedding day. Additional hours can be decided on the day of your wedding.

12. How many Toronto Wedding Photographers will there be at out wedding if we book your studio?

• Only one Toronto wedding photographer comes with each package as standard.

• To maximize the coverage we recommend that you book an additional wedding photographer on the day of your wedding. This ensures more coverage of both the bride & the groom’s preparations without the need to shorten our time in order to travel between, plus it means more angles of coverage throughout the ceremony, speeches and cocktail hour especially when the bride & groom are at their photo shoot, you don’t want to miss out on your guests mingling! More photographers mean less obtrusive throughout the day.

13. Do you offer free travel with your packages?

• Our Wedding Photography packages have differnt charges for travel. For our 6 hour package, travel is calculated from our midtown Toronto location. We include 100 km’s of travel free with our 8 hour package. 100 km’s is calculated from our midtown office, to the direction of the wedding location(s) including preparations, church and/or reception venue. A charge of .58c per km is charged thereafter. If your wedding is taking place 3+ hrs drive from downtown Toronto, a hotel/motel accommodation is needed, up to the value of $65. This hotel stay ensures that our team is well rested and safe to drive home afterwards. Only our 10 hour package includes free travel.

14. Are We required to feed you and your team on our wedding day?

• Your wedding day means so much to us, it will be a long day and we will need to keep our energy levels up if we are to perform our best in order to deliver you our maximum effort. In order for us to capture your wedding day we have to be always present and leaving the venue to get food is not an option, we would be very gracious if you could provide our team with a meal on the night of your wedding, as this will keep smiles on our faces as we deliver you, our best performance.

15. Do you use Drones during our Wedding Day?

• We include Drone coverage with the top wedding photography packages. The use of drones is subject to location and weather permitting. Not all locations allow the use of a drone, especially if the location is close to an airport or a city.

16. How do we proceed in booking your studio for our wedding?

• We will send you a booking form and contract via email, once you fill it out with all your information and details of your wedding day and agree to the contract by inserting your initials and digitally signing it, a non-refundable deposit ( 50% ) is then required to secure your wedding date with us. The deposit can be paid via Transfer wise or an e-transfer, a receipt with remaining balance is sent out once received.

17. What happens next, once we book with you, do we wait to be contacted leading up to our wedding? 

• We will contact you 1 - 2 months leading up to your wedding day to discuss a suitable shooting style for your wedding and to work out a shot list, so that we can aim to cover all on the day of your wedding and so that we won’t miss a soul. Then, with only weeks to your wedding day, we will the contact you via Skype video or a phone call to arrange further details on your wedding day. This is then a perfect time to discuss shooting locations, running orders etc.

18. When do we pay the remaining balance?

• For your chosen wedding photography package, we like to be settled with before or on the day of your wedding. We prefer to be paid upfront so that we can order any additional extras that will be included with your finished package.

19. We have paid you the full amount, how can we be certain you will deliver?

• At Maple and Clover, we take our clients very seriously, your wedding is our life source, in order for us to succeed we can’t afford any negative reviews or have anything that can tarnish our credibility. Our end goal is to over deliver and exceed your expectations.

20. What is Expedited Delivery - $395

• Normally we deliver your wedding content to you within 3 months after your wedding date, this gives us the necessary time to edit your wedding content to the highest standard. If you wish to have your wedding photos sooner, we can offer you an expedited delivery. We will dedicate all our time and energy on your content and have it delivered to you within 2 weeks after your wedding day.

21. What is an Engagement Shoot involve?

• If you chose to have an engagement shoot before your wedding day, we will meet at a chosen location and shoot for up to 90 minutes. This is a great way to meet and greet and get to know one another a little better.

22. What are your Covid-19 protocols for cancelled weddings?

• Ever since the Covid-19 restrictions were introduced in 2020 we have made some adjustments our contract. If you’re wedding can’t take place on your chosen date due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will work with you to select a new date. If we are not available for your new date, we will return your 50% deposit so that you can plan a new date with a new vendor. This Pandemic is hard enough on everyone, so why make it harder and keep your deposit? Also if you decide to cancel your wedding altogether and wait till the storm clears, we will still honor your original 50% deposit to book another date.
