Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long have you been capturing weddings?
David has been a professional wedding photographer since 2009, starting at his family’s Castle Durrow Country House Hotel in Ireland, and has since shot over 400 wedding films. He launched Maple and Clover in Toronto in 2018.

2. Why choose Maple and Clover?
Maple and Clover prioritizes a comfortable, natural experience, avoiding over-posed shots. We lightly direct to capture genuine emotions, manage your day’s timeline, and ensure candid moments with guests, delivering a stress-free, authentic wedding album.

3. Why is personality important in a wedding photographer?
A compatible personality ensures you feel at ease. We prioritize meeting in-person or via video to build trust, making your wedding day enjoyable with a photographer who feels like a friend.

4. What cameras do you use, and do you have backups?
We use Sony full-frame cameras with G Master lenses, with each photographer carrying at least two cameras and backup equipment to ensure no moment is missed.

5. How long until we receive our photos?
First drafts are delivered within 2-3 months. We limit annual weddings to maintain quality and quick turnaround.

6. How many photos are included, and are they watermarked?
Packages include unlimited photos, varying by wedding. Final images are watermark-free with unrestricted printing rights.

7. What’s the deposit to secure our date?
A 25% deposit of your chosen package, payable via TransferWise or e-transfer, secures your date.

8. When is the remaining balance due?
The balance is due before or on your wedding day.

9. Any current discounts?
Book both photography and videography with Maple and Clover and Solely Love Films for a 10% discount.

10. Can we upgrade coverage later?
Yes, add a second photographer or extra hours with two weeks’ notice for additional coverage. Extra hours can be decided on the day.

11. How many photographers are included?
One photographer is standard. Adding a second ensures more angles and coverage, especially during preparations and cocktail hour.

12. Is travel included?
The 6-hour package charges travel from midtown Toronto. The 8-hour package includes 100 km free, with $0.58/km thereafter. For weddings 3+ hours away, a $65 hotel stay is required. The 10-hour package includes free travel.

13. Do we need to provide meals?
A meal for our team is appreciated to maintain energy, as leaving the venue isn’t feasible. This ensures our best performance.

14. Do you use drones?
Drone coverage is included in top packages, weather and location permitting (e.g., no airports or city restrictions).

15. How do we book?
Complete our emailed booking form and contract, then pay a 25% non-refundable deposit via TransferWise or e-transfer to secure your date.

We contact you 1-2 months before to discuss style and shot lists, and weeks before via phone or video call, for final details like locations and schedules.

The balance is due before or on your wedding day, allowing us to order extras for your package. Additional hours on the day, an invoice will be sent out afterwards.

18. How can we trust you’ll deliver?
Maple and Clover’s reputation depends on exceeding expectations. Negative reviews aren’t an option; we aim to over-deliver.

19. What’s an engagement shoot?
A 90-minute shoot at a chosen location to build rapport and capture pre-wedding moments.

20. What are your COVID-19 cancellation policies?
If COVID-19 restrictions cancel your wedding, we’ll reschedule. If we’re unavailable, your 25% deposit is refunded. If you cancel entirely, we’ll honor your deposit for a future date.

David has amazing talent in both photography and videography. I find them to be very reasonably priced and easy to work with.
