Engagement Photography & Wedding Livestreaming: A Year in Toronto

2020 brought a lot of change, including a shift in how I approached my work as a Toronto wedding photographer and videographer — or, as I prefer to call it, a wedding filmmaker. I used the year to invest heavily in my skills, and it turned into one of the busiest and most rewarding stretches of my career so far.

Engagement Shoots & Wedding Films

Throughout the year, I had the chance to shoot a wide range of engagement photoshoots across Toronto, alongside producing several wedding films for clients. Each session gave me the chance to refine a more natural, story-driven approach — something that continues to shape how I shoot both engagements and weddings today.

First Time Live Streaming Weddings

For the first time, I also began offering wedding livestreaming — something I'd like to continue developing as a service going forward. It's a more technically demanding offering than it might sound: getting a reliable live stream to run smoothly takes the right equipment, backup systems, and careful planning around venue connectivity.

My first two livestreamed weddings took place at a farm property in Hamilton and inside a church at the University of Toronto. Both came with their own unique technical challenges, and both taught me a lot about what it takes to deliver a livestream that actually holds up in real time for guests watching remotely.

Returning to School

That fall, I returned to school to sharpen my photography skills, enrolling at Seneca College for a year and a half of further study. The goal: build toward eventually running my own photo and video studio here in Toronto, while continuing to work in film production as a Unit Photographer on set — combining both sides of the work I love.
